Subject: Regarding taking necessary action to rectify defects and maintenance-related issues in BDA housing projects where the Defect Liability Period (DLP) has expired.
The letter states that several BDA housing projects where the Defect Liability Period has expired continue to have issues relating to basic infrastructure, amenities and maintenance. The Commissioner has therefore issued directions to the concerned officers to inspect the projects and take necessary action to address the deficiencies.

- DLP-expired BDA housing projects:
The concerned officers are directed to take necessary action regarding maintenance works in housing projects where the DLP has expired. Such works are to be taken up in accordance with the applicable procedure, including coordination with the concerned Residents Welfare Association (RWA) before the project is formally handed over. - Inspection of all projects:
The concerned Executive Engineers and subordinate officers are directed to personally inspect all the housing projects under their jurisdiction and identify issues relating to infrastructure, amenities and maintenance. - Time-bound resolution:
Any deficiencies identified during the inspections are to be addressed without unnecessary delay, with the concerned officers taking the necessary corrective measures. - Supervision and monitoring:
The concerned officers are instructed to closely monitor maintenance and rectification works in their respective jurisdictions and ensure that the required works are completed properly. - Responsibility of engineering officers:
The concerned Executive Engineers (EE), Assistant Executive Engineers (AEE) and Assistant Engineers (AE) have been instructed to personally oversee the maintenance and rectification of issues in DLP-expired housing projects and ensure appropriate action. - Participation in review meetings:
The concerned engineering officials are required to participate in the relevant review meetings and coordinate with the concerned teams for monitoring the progress of the works.
The letter has been addressed to the concerned officers of BDA, with copies marked to the Commissioner/Chief Engineers and other relevant officials.
