The Government of Karnataka has published the Karnataka Apartment (Ownership and Management) Act, 2026 (KAOMA 2026) in the Karnataka Gazette Extraordinary dated 15 October 2026, following the Governor’s assent on 9 October 2026. The legislation establishes a comprehensive legal framework for apartment ownership, management of common areas, governance of apartment owners’ associations, maintenance responsibilities, dispute resolution and redevelopment.
